Tom Latham became a Christian while serving in the U.S. Navy, where he began holding Protestant Divine Services whenever his ship was at sea. After completing his naval service, he spent the next four years at Bible College to further his spiritual journey. He achieved a significant milestone in his studies by earning a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree from Luther Rice Seminary. 

After his second year of Bible college, Tom and Penny Stimpson got married. Then they spent the next five years doing continued studies. Together, they began a mission to serve God in Brazil. Their family grew to include three children, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Although Penny was promoted to Glory, Tom continues to serve Christ in Brazil.
